Limited production model uses electricity to propel greener

Mercedes-Benz took a major step for the future of their automobiles. The German manufacturer launched this week in Germany, the Class E-Cell, electric model that gets its energy for lithium batteries from the conventional power grid. With limited production of 500 units, the car can be purchased in Europe by means of leasing. The brand will also take the model to the Salon de Paris in France, which will take place between 2 and 17 October this year.

Visually equal to Class A gasoline-powered, the E-Cell has "belly" totally different, but do not change the internal configuration of the vehicle. The thruster electric front is smaller than the blocks to blast and battery pack goes under the car floor. Already the power jack goes in the same place the fuel nozzle.

According to Mercedes, the electric propulsion system develops 95 bhp and 29.5 Nm of torque to the first rotation of the motor. Data from the German manufacturer has indicated that the alternative model has a top speed of 150 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5s5.
